The Phoenix Suns have no interest in trading the No. 1 overall pick in exchange for Kawhi Leonard.

The Suns were linked with a trade for Leonard this week.

The Suns plan on selection Deandre Ayton.

For Phoenix, they would be trading away a potential franchise player under team control for years for Leonard, who is expected to pursue free agency in 2019 if he doesn't end up on the team of his choosing.

Phoenix, however, could be interesting in working on a trade as a third team facilitator.

The Suns could get involved in taking on the contract of Luol Deng in a package for one of the Lakers' young stars such as Lonzo Ball.

Depending on the Lakers' need for cap space, they could also use the stretch provision on Deng.
