The Philadelphia 76ers continue to operate without a general manager this offseason. The 76ers prefer to keep their current front office personnel intact and they also want someone with prior GM experience.
Sources say R.C. Buford has been mentioned as a possible target, but he has been reluctant to leave the San Antonio Spurs.
David Griffin was once mentioned as the leading candidate for the job.
Kiki VanDeWeghe has also expressed interest in the job.
“I think general-manager experience and a track record is a plus,” Harris said. “Obviously, we lived through a science project [by hiring Sam Hinkie, who had no GM experience]. It had its benefits, but we may not be able to get that [a former general manager].”
