Chicago Bulls players held a players-only meeting in response Jim Boylen's "shock-and-awe" coaching approach that culminated with a historic 56-point loss against the Boston Celtics. Boylen benched his starters on two separate occasions in the loss.

Zach LaVine and Justin Holiday arranged the two-hour meeting in lieu of a Sunday practice scheduled by Boylen.

The players and coaching staff met again following the players-only meeting.

Wendall Carter Jr. said that the players needed to talk to the coaches "as men" and were "very, very honest with one another; very direct."

Boylen tried to downplay the events, saying "our meeting is what I thought we needed."
