Television ratings for the 2019 NBA Playoffs have been down significantly during the first window.

Going into Wednesday's doubleheader of Game 5s, ratings and/or viewership have declined for 30 of the 33 playoff windows compared to last season. Twenty-six games have declined double-digits in one or both measures.

The Portland Trail Blazers' Game 5 thriller earned 3.11 million viewers on TNT, which was down from 18 percent last season (Spurs-Warriors: 3.79 million) and down two percent from 2017 (Jazz-Clippers: 3.18M). The game, however, did go against Nuggets-Spurs on NBA TV while prior year games had no other game on concurrently.

The first round matchups generally lacked much intrigue before the playoffs began and have largely been non-competitive.
