The Brooklyn Nets will be in the running to sign top-tier free agents this summer, according to SNY.

The Nets will potentially have two max slots if they renounce D'Angelo Russell, trade Allen Crabbe, and let go of 6 other players without a deal.

"Making the playoffs definitely helped their chances," said a source, on the Nets' ability to attract a free agent.

Sean Marks was optimistic that the team could convince a top player to come to Brooklyn in his exit interview.

"The process we went through this year - and there's a lot of positives that've come out of this year - can only help. It's going to attract free agents. People are going to want to play here. They're going to want to play for Kenny [Atkinson], they're going to want to play in Brooklyn, they're going to play for this ownership group. We have a lot of things going for us," said Marks.

SNY also learned that Kevin Durant has a strong interest in playing with Caris LeVert due to their close relationship.

"It's like a big brother. He reached out when I was in college. Obviously, we had similar injuries and things like that and the same surgeon. He's like a big brother," said LeVert on his relationship with Durant.
