The NBA has notified all 30 teams they are not allowed to scout practices involving LaMelo Ball and RJ Hampton this season.

Ball and Hampton are projected top-10 picks playing in Australia this season, but are currently in the United States for preseason games against hte Grizzlies and Thunder.

A Sunday evening practice was closed to NBA teams that had traveled to Memphis with the intent of scouting Hampton in practice.

The ban stems from an interpretation of the NBA's no-contact rules. Hampton and Ball also are not considered international players under current NBA rules.
