The New York Knicks will retain Scott Perry as general manager on a one-year deal.

“Scott is a well-respected basketball executive who I have known for more than 20 years, and I look forward to continuing to work closely with him as we look to build a winning team in New York," Leon Rose said.

The Knicks needed to make a decision on Perry with a mutual option set to trigger on May 1st.

Perry has a long relationship with Rose and this new deal allows both parties to evaluate the partnership before agreeing to a long-term deal.

The Knicks parted ways with Steve Mills as team president before the trade deadline.
