The Portland Trail Blazers were the only franchise to vote against the NBA's 22-team return-to-play format.

The Blazers preferred the 20-team return-to-play format, which would have put the top-20 teams into four groups of five for a round robin group stage to determine which teams advance to the second round of the playoffs.

The Blazers will have the opportunity to qualify for the playoffs as the eighth seed but will have a far more difficult path than they would have in a group stage scenario.
