Multiple front office executives have spoken with Marc Stein of the New York Times about the NBA conducting parts of the 20-21 season in short-term regional bubbles designed to host up to a month's worth of games.

The short-term bubbles would be followed by rest periods and training in home markets.

The NBA is unsure when the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic will be reduced to the point where fans will be allowed back in arenas. The NBA, however, seems to have confidence in its ability to continue playing games in a bubble environment with daily testing.

"But confidence in the bubble approach is almost universal at this point," writes Stein.
