Some small market NBA teams have told ESPN they fear they could lose more than $20 million in revenue sharing next season.

Many smaller market franchises are dependent on gate receipts and revenue sharing from big market teams such as the Los Angeles Clippers, New York Knicks and Golden State Warriors. If gate receipts are eliminated or dramatically limited, big market teams will be limited in what they can share with smaller market teams.

In addition to the loss of revenue streams, some teams fear the cap and tax could fall as far by $25 million to $30 million. Unless the NBA and NBPA agree to cap smoothing, 25 of its 30 teams could be stuck with luxury tax payments based on projected payrolls.

Adam Silver is on record saying game-night receipts account for approximately 40 percent of the league's revenues.
