The Boston Celtics never offered Jayson Tatum or Jaylen Brown to the New Orleans Pelicans in any trade talks for Anthony Davis last June, sources tell Shams Charania of The Athletic. 

The Celtics had hoped to trade for Davis to form a superstar duo with Kyrie Irving. But Irving began to distance himself from the Celtics last spring and the belief around Davis was that the point guard intended to leave the franchise in free agency.

The Pelicans eventually traded Davis to the Los Angeles Lakers.
