The Memphis Grizzlies hired MIT women's basketball coach Sonia Raman as an assistant.

Raman replaces Niele Ivey, who left for Notre Dame in April.

"She has a high basketball IQ and a tremendous ability to teach the game as well as a strong passion for the game. She is going to be a great addition to our current coaching staff," said Taylor Jenkins.

Raman reached the NCAA tournament twice in her 12 years at MIT.
