The Washington Wizards are not considering a trade of Bradley Beal this offseason as they intend to build their team around him.

"We're building this team around Bradley Beal," Tommy Sheppard said on The Lowe Post podcast on Thursday. "He's a tremendous human being. He's a tremendous player. He's exactly what we want to have here with the Washington Wizards."

Beal signed a two-year, $71.8 million extension with the Wizards in 2019 and cannot become a free agent until 2022.

The Wizards hope to have John Wall back this season following his ruptured Achilles in February 2019.
