The Milwaukee Bucks gave up a significant trade package for Jrue Holiday this week, but they may have received an assurance on some level that he is interested in signing an extension with the team.

"From what I understand, Jrue Holiday had the freedom to talk with teams about whether he was wiling to extend," said Brian Windhorst on The Hoop Collective Podcast Tuesday evening. "And there were certain teams he wasn't willing to extend with. And him going to Milwaukee, I don't think it's agreed to, I want to be clear about that. And they really can't do it until February. But I think he is open to extending, otherwise I don't think they do this deal."

Holiday signed a five-year, $126 million contract with the New Orleans Pelicans in 2017. Holiday has a player option for 21-22.
