Klay Thompson has suffered a torn Achilles in his right foot and will miss the entire 20-21 season. Based on the type of tear, Thompson has been told he can expect to make a full recovery.

Thompson suffered the injury Wednesday afternoon in Los Angeles during a pickup game with several other NBA players.

Thompson was working his way back from a torn ACL in his left knee suffered during Game 6 of The Finals in 2019.

The Golden State Warriors signed Thompson to a five-year, $190 million contract during the 2019 offseason. Thompson will miss the entirety of the first two seasons of the deal and likely part of Year 3 as an Achilles is typically an injury requiring at least 12 full months of recovery. Thompson will turn 31 in February.
