Anthony Davis will re-sign with the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason, but no formal commitment is expected to come in the immediate days following the start of free agency.

Davis plans to wait at least through Thanksgiving as he considers his options on the length and structure of maximum contract deals.

Davis could sign a three-year, $106 million deal with a player option for 22-23, which would align him with the end of the current deal of LeBron James.

Davis could also do a two-year, $68 million deal with an option after next year.

Some free agent windows James had with the Cleveland Cavaliers extended over a period of weeks as other Klutch players negotiated their contracts. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is a free agent looking for a significant new deal.
