Brandon Ingram agreed to a five-year, $158 million deal in restricted free agency with the New Orleans Pelicans, but it has yet to be reported whether he will have an option in Year 5.
"Brandon Ingram just signed, he hasn't actually signed the contract yet, but he just agreed," said Brian Windhorst on his podcast. "To my knowledge, it hasn't been reported whether he got an option or not. My attempts to find out whether he did get an option is nobody wants to talk about it. Because it's a sensitive topic."
Ingram and the Pelicans were unable to agree to an extension before the 19-20 season. Ingram went on to have a breakout season and became an All-Star after largely being inconsistent with the Los Angeles Lakers.
If Ingram has a player option, he can become a free agent in 2024.
