Anthony Davis has signed a five-year, $190 million maximum contract with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The deal includes an early termination option before the fifth year of the deal in 24-25. Davis will have to wait two seasons before he can sign for 35 percent of the salary cap as a 10-year veteran.

Davis considered several short and long-term contract scenarios before taking the full five-year maximum offer. According to Brian Windhorst, Davis considered approximately a dozen different scenarios. Many cap experts expected Davis to choose a two-plus-one contract to become a free agent again to get on the 35 percent max.

Davis' deal comes in the wake of LeBron James extending his deal two-years through 2023-2024.
