The Houston Rockets could be finally nearing a trade of James Harden approximately two months after he first asked to leave the franchise, sources tell The Athletic.

Harden escalated his public comments implying he wants a trade following a pair of losses by the Rockets to the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Rockets are sifting through offers on a potential Harden trade from the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers.

The Nets have prepared a package for Harden featuring all four future first round picks and three future pick swaps. The Nets currently own all of their future first round picks.

Houston has sought a package from the 76ers built around Ben Simmons with Matisse Thybulle also on their wish list. Philadelphia's desire to give up one or multiple first round picks is unclear.
