The possibility of the New Orleans Pelicans trading Lonzo Ball before the deadline appear to have decreased recently, sources tell Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer. O'Connor reports trade talks involving Ball as having "fizzled for now."

Ball has played better of late and is their best playmaker in the backcourt.

Ball will be a restricted free agent in the offseason and it is not yet clear how he fits in the Pelicans' long-term plans.

The Pelicans could be buyers or sellers at the deadline.
