Steve Kerr responded angrily to the way comments he made on a podcast were framed on Twitter by a local media member in the Bay Area.

While Kerr didn't mention Kevin Durant by name, he alluded to the issues that plagued the Warriors during the 18-19 season. Durant responded "This is hilarious" to the Tweet.

“That last year was tough,” Kerr said on the podcast. “There was a lot going on – some that you know about and some that you don’t. That was very difficult.”

Kerr went on to say Golden State's disastrous 19-20 season was more enjoyable for him as a coach.

Kerr and Durant had friction during their final season together, reports Anthony Slater.

“To take that comment and put in it into a tweet and send it out into the universe was so irresponsible and damaging," Kerr said Monday evening. "And I’m angry.

"I know what’s going to happen: I know this is going to be taken out onto the morning shows and people are going to be talking about it, and they are going to use what they think is a quote when it’s actually something that’s completely made up. I’m not happy. I think it’s wrong. Again, I try to be candid. I try to share everything so our fans know what our team is going through, what I’m going through. We like to share our story. It’s a big part of promoting our team. So this is really concerning for me. It’s part of modern media, maybe, but it’s dead wrong and I’m upset about it."
