The New Orleans Pelicans are contemplating a trade of Lonzo Ball, which could also give them an opportunity to shed some salary.

The Pelicans have Eric Bledsoe and Steven Adams on contracts with two seasons remaining for nearly $90 million combined.

New Orleans traded for Bledsoe as part of the Jrue Holiday deal and also traded for and then extended Adams this past offseason.

The Pelicans appear to view Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram, Jaxson Hayes and Nickel Alexander-Walker as their young core with Ball not necessarily in that group as he is about to become a restricted free agent.

Ball has been linked with the Chicago Bulls, Philadelphia 76ers, New York Knicks, Atlanta Hawks and Los Angeles Clippers, amongst others.
