The Boston Celtics will explore trading Kemba Walker in the offseason, sources tell Brian Robb of MassLive.

Walker is due $36 million in 21-22 and $37.7 million in 22-23, which makes his contract one of the most difficult in the NBA to trade due to his knee issues.

The Celtics would like to trade Walker to create some current and future salary flexibility while also reducing their luxury tax bill.

Boston would almost certainly be incapable of both re-signing Evan Fournier and keeping Walker due to their luxury tax concerns as a non-contender in 2022.
