The contract of Haralabos Voulgaris with the Dallas Mavericks expires this offseason and his continued employment with the franchise remains uncertain.

"Won’t talk about individual deals. Never do,” said Mark Cuban when asked about the future of Voulgaris.

If Voulgaris does sign a new contract with the Mavericks, The Athletic reports it would be the same role he has held to date.

While Donnie Nelson and the Mavericks announced that they "mutually agreed to part ways", he was actually fired on Sunday after 24 years in the franchise. The Mavericks have hired a search firm to find their next head of basketball operations. Michael Finley is a candidate for the job and he began taking a larger role in the past few months.

Team sources also tell The Athletic that Voulgaris never sought to replace Nelson as the formal leader atop the Dallas organizational chart.

Tim MacMahon talks about the role Voulgaris has with Cuban.

"Cuban respects the guy's information," said Tim MacMahon on The Lowe Post. "Cuban thinks this guy knows basketball. Does really good homework. Provides insightful, unique data."

While Voulgaris was wrong on pushing for Delon Wright, he did lobby for the Mavericks to trade up for Tyrese Haliburton.

"Donnie Nelson quickly came to look at Bob Voulgaris as an adversary," added MacMahon.

"The other thing is, Bob Voulgaris... I'm just going to be blunt: is incredibly arrogant. He rubs people the wrong way. If you think Donnie Nelson was the only source in The Athletic story or was even a source. I don't even know if he was a source. I'm just going to put it to you like this: if you're looking for people who are going to talk behind Bob Voulgaris' back within the Mavericks organization, throw a dart, you'll hit one."
