The Boston Celtics have agreed to trade Tristan Thompson to the Sacramento Kings as part of a three-way trade with the Atlanta Hawks. Wright will be routed to the Hawks, while Boston will acquire Kris Dunn.

The move gives the Celtics some luxury tax flexibility as they attempt to re-sign Evan Fournier.

Thompson signed a two-year, $19 million contract with the Celtics last offseason. Thompson gives Sacramento insurance at center heading into the free agency of Richaun Holmes.

Dunn signed a two-year, $10 million deal with the Hawks last offseason as well, but was largely limited due to ankle and back injuries.
