The New York Knicks have waived guard Luca Vildoza. Vildoza was on a non-guaranteed $3.3 million contract for 2021-22. That was part of a four-year deal the Argentinian product signed with New York. Because the deal was fully non-guaranteed, there will be no cap hit for the Knicks.

Vildoza signed with the Knicks at the end of the 2020-21 season. The hope was New York would have a cost-efficient find for their bench. Vildoza never appeared in a game that season. He's been hampered with an ankle injury this offseason, and it's continued into the start of Knicks camp.

Recently, reports surfaced that Vildoza was competing with Kevin Knox for one of the Knicks final roster spots. New York now has an open standard roster spot and an open Two-Way spot. There are several players on training camp deals competing for those two roster spots.
