The Competition Committee discussed the increase in transition "take" fouls this season and has encouraged the NBA's league office to develop a rule change that would eliminate the incentive to utilize the tactic in the future.

The defensive play typically involves an intentional foul to stop a fastbreak opportunity, but falls short of being a clear path foul, which the league has already penalized.

FIBA and most leagues outside the United States have already instituted simple rules to penalize the "take" foul.
