The NBA have formally announced an investigation of Robert Sarver and the Phoenix Suns in response to an ESPN report alleging racism and misogyny.

The league's investigation, however, won't be conducted as quickly as the one it did in 2014 resulting in the lifelong suspension of Donald Sterling and the eventual sale of the Los Angeles Clippers.

"The allegations contained in today's ESPN articles are extremely serious, and we have directed the Wachtell Lipton law firm to commence a comprehensive investigation," said Mike Bass. "The NBA and WNBA remain committed to providing a respectful and inclusive workplace for all employees. Once the investigation is completed, its findings will provide the basis for any league action."
