When Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant went down without contact on Friday night and couldn't put weight on his left leg, the worst was feared. An initial MRI showed Morant avoided serious injury and has a sprained left knee.

Morant will undergo further testing in the coming days. That will help decide on a return to play timeline.

The Grizzlies have been up-and-down this season, as they sit with a 9-10 record. Morant has been spectacular however.

Morant has averaged 24.1 points, while upping his shooting splits to 48/36/78. The star guard is also averaging 5.6 rebounds, 6.8 assists and 1.6 steals per game.
