The Indiana Pacers are moving toward a "substantial rebuild" and will likely open up trade conversations involving their core.

The Pacers are receptive to trades involving Caris LeVert and either Domantas Sabonis or Myles Turner.

Both Sabonis and Turner have been the subject of trade calls from rival teams due to their overlapping skill sets. Rick Carlisle had wanted to see the frontcourt duo together.

Kevin Pritchard has tried to convince owner Herb Simon a rebuild is necessary, including in 2017, but Simon wanted to remain competitive. Simon is the NBA's longest-tenured owner in the league and has always wanted to put the most competitive team possible on the floor. Simon, who is 87 years old, has become amenable to the idea of a rebuild.
