The Chicago Bulls are signing wing Alfonzo McKinnie via the hardship exception. Chicago is currently down five players due to the NBA's health and safety protocols.

DeMar DeRozan, Javonte Green, Derrick Jones Jr., Matt Thomas and Coby White are all out in the protocols. In addition, Alex Caruso is sidelined with a hamstring injury and Patrick Williams is out long-term due to wrist surgery.

Chicago recently added Stanley Johnson via the hardship exception and now will add McKinnie, as the team is in need of wing depth.

McKinnie is a four-year NBA veteran. He previously played for the Toronto Raptors, Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers. This season, McKinnie has been playing for the Mexico City Capitanes of the G League. In 10 games (all starts) McKinnie has averaged 24.1 points and 9.8 rebounds per contest.
