The Los Angeles Lakers players have been hit hard with injuries and health and safety protocol absences, and that's now extended to the coaching staff. Lakers head coach Frank Vogel has entered the NBA's health and safety protocols. David Fizdale will coach the team during Vogel's absence.

In addition, reserve wing Kent Bazemore has also entered the health and safety protocols.

Vogel has come under fire for the Lakers disappointing start to the 2021-22 season. Los Angeles fans have called for his firing and the promotion of Fizdale to replace him. The Lakers haven't had their full complement of players available for even one game this season, and recently announced Anthony Davis is out for at least four weeks with a knee injury.
