The Washington Wizards have been hit hard at the point guard position with players in the NBA's health and safety protocols. Washington has recently been without Spencer Dinwiddie, Aaron Holiday and Raul Neto due to the protocols. In addition, hardship addition Brad Wanamaker was placed in the protocols himself. Because of this, the Wizards will add Tremont Waters on a 10-day hardship contract.

Waters recently completed a 10-day deal with the Toronto Raptors. In two games with Toronto, Waters averaged 4.0 points and 3.5 assists in 21 minutes per contest.

Waters had been playing for the Wisconsin Herd of the G League prior to his NBA callup. With the Herd, Waters had averaged 17.2 points, 6.0 assists and 2.7 steals per game.
