Kyrie Irving made his long-awaited 2021-22 season debut as the Brooklyn Nets won at the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday. Irving is limited to playing in road games only, as New York continues to mandate home performers must be vaccinated to perform in stadiums and arenas.

Following the game, Irving was asked if he would re-consider getting vaccinated. His response was inconclusive.

"I'm just taking it one day at a time. It’s not an ideal situation, and I’m always praying that things get figured out and we’re able to come to some collective agreement", Irving said. "I don't want to make it simply about me and simply about someone lessening the rules for me. I know what the consequences were, I still know what they are. But right now, I'm just going to take it one day at a time."

Irving scored 22 to points, as the Nets came from behind to beat the Pacers. Irving will now have to sit out four of the next six games for Brooklyn, as they come at home.
