Donovan Mitchell has become one of the NBA's brightest stars, despite playing in one of the league's smallest markets. But there is growing speculation around the league that market size might matter to Mitchell.

In the first round of All-Star voting returns, Mitchell was seventh among Western Conference guards. That's seen as a signifier that Mitchell isn't getting the attention he should, due to the market he plays in.

The Jazz have done several things to keep Mitchell happy. This includes accounting for Mitchell's feelings on roster moves and other franchise decisions.

Mitchell is in the first year of a five-year contract, maximum contract extension. He can opt out via a player option after the fourth season and become a free agent in 2025.
