Kyle Lowry has been lobbying to return to game action after being out since Game 3 of the first round with a hamstring strain, sources tell Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports. The Miami Heat, however, are choosing to exercise caution to reduce the odds of him aggravating the injury.

Lowry has already been ruled out for Game 2.

“We’re not basing any of these decisions on whether we’re winning or losing,” Erik Spoelstra said on Tuesday after practice. “This is what we think is best right now.”

The Heat will enter Game 2 with a 1-0 series lead over the Philadelphia 76ers, who are playing without Joel Embiid for the early part of the round.
