The negotiations between Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets do not appear to be progressing in a positive manner, according to Adrian Wojnarowski on the NBA Today.

Irving is seeking a multi-year guaranteed deal while the Nets want provisions in the contract that protect them against either injury or presumably personal leave.

The negotiations between Irving and the Nets are ongoing amid the backdrop that Kevin Durant's future with the franchise is tied to the resolution.

"This is getting acrimonious," said Wojnarowksi of the talks. "I think that's the concern when you look at not only Kyrie Irving's future in Brooklyn, but Kevin Durant's future and whether they can hold this thing together right now."

Irving and Durant chose to sign with the Nets in 2019.
