French prospect Zacharie Perrin announced his commitment to the University of Illinois on Monday.

Perrin is a 6-foot-11, 220 pound prospect who is considered one of the most promising European players in the class of 2022.

Perrin played last season in the French B League, where he averaged 21.5 points and 10.9 rebounds while receiving MVP honors.

"I didn't consider college until very late in the process since I was focused on going pro with Antibes," Perrin told ESPN. "UCLA, Texas, Florida, Memphis and BYU all recruited me, but the facilities, staff and the overall level of the Big Ten made it difficult to pass up Illinois. Once college programs started to present their projects, it became clear to me that's what I wanted to do. I didn't have a ton of European options outside of Antibes because of French league regulations."

Perrin, who turns 18 in August, is set to be one of the youngest players in college next season.
