Members of the New York Knicks organization believe that pairing Donovan Mitchell and Jalen Brunson together would potentially attract another star to join the team, reported Marc Berman of the New York Post.

The Knicks most recently offered Evan Fournier, Obi Toppin, and five first-round picks for Mitchell. The two sides are reportedly in a "stalemate" over the number of unprotected picks to include.

The team believes that a Jalen Brunson-Donovan Mitchell backcourt would lead to 47 wins.

Berman also adds that Knicks' brass are worried about the roster fit between Toppin and Julius Randle, and believe that Randle can return to his 2020-21 form.
