Patrick Beverley expressed his excitement of playing alongside Russell Westbrook during his introductory press conference with the Los Angeles Lakers.

"Super excited...I was asked this question two, three years ago, [about] someone I always wanted to play with and [Westbrook] was the first name...a player with that competitive spirit, that fire, that will, that dog, that nastiness, that grit, to have a running mate like that, I have never had that. So I am super excited to see where it goes," said Beverley.

The new Lakers point guard also broke down how he and Westbrook could compliment each other's game through spacing.

"I shoot a ton out of the right-corner wing. He posts on the left wing out of [timeouts], he likes to post on the right wing. I shoot 50% from the left-corner 3. It works," added Beverley.

Darvin Ham also echoed Beverley's excitement of how the pair could fit, adding that they could even start games together.

"If they play defense. We've got a while. That's still a ways off, but definitely. People get caught up in the starting lineups a lot, but you look at who is finishing games. Those starters, they're out there to set that tone for the entire team throughout the game...we're looking forward to it, man, those guys in the backcourt together, man."
