When Kemba Walker was traded to the Detroit Pistons at the start of the offseason, the expectation was Walker's stay with Detroit would be a short one. Yet, only a few weeks from training camp opening, Walker remains on the Pistons roster.

Walker and Detroit had reportedly agreed to a buyout where the veteran guard would give up money. However, with Walker struggling to find a new team to recoup the money he gives up, that buyout has been delayed.

The Pistons are still expected to eventually waive Walker. However, Walker may not give up any money in a buyout until he is certain he'll sign with another team. Walker is under no obligation to give Detroit any sort of discount, nor are the Pistons obligated to waive him until they decide they need a roster spot.
