The Los Angeles Lakers are going back to a familiar face to add some depth for the upcoming season. The Lakers and Dennis Schroder have agreed to a one-year, veteran minimum contract.

Schroder played in 61 games for Los Angeles during the 2020-21 season. The veteran point guard averaged 15.4 points and 5.7 assists in 32.1 minutes per game.

Last season, Schroder split the year between the Boston Celtics and Houston Rockets. Schroder joined Boston on the Taxpayer Mid-Level Exception, before being traded to Houston at the trade deadline.

This summer, Schroder has played well as one of the leaders for Germany during EuroBasket. Schroder helped lead the German team to the EuroBasket semi-finals, which sparked interest around the NBA in bringing him.
