The Boston Celtics have no plans to remove the "interim" tag from Joe Mazzulla's job title during the 22-23 season.

The Celtics have the NBA's best record coming out of Christmas at 24-10.

Reportedly, Mazzulla is aware and understanding of that situation. He's also been told that he'll be coaching the team for the entire season, no matter how things go.

Mazzulla was elevated to interim head coach when Ime Udoka was suspended for the season. Udoka was suspended following an investigation into his improper relationship with a female staffer.

It's possible that Mazzulla may have been given more information privately about the Celtics plan, but there are no plans for any changes in title. If Udoka takes another coaching job, he was reportedly close to coaching the Brooklyn Nets, that could change. But, for the time being, Mazzulla will remain the interim head coach.
