Nic Claxton re-signed with the Brooklyn Nets last offseason as a restricted free agent on a two-year, $20 million deal. The Nets had an opportunity to trade Claxton at last year's trade deadline, but declined to do so with the intent of keeping him.

"They got real trade offers for him at the deadline last year, including a protected first round pick I believe," said Zach Lowe on his podcast And turned it down."

The fit of Claxton with Ben Simmons has been uncertain due to their lack of spacing as two non-shooters.
