The Atlanta Hawks have begun formal discussions with Quin Snyder. Atlanta is attempting to move swiftly to hire Snyder as their next head coach.

Atlanta parted ways with Nate McMillan on Tuesday. The Hawks named Joe Prunty as their interim head coach, but general manager Landry Fields said he would immediately start working on finding a permanent replacement for McMillan. Prunty himself indicated that the process could move quickly, when asked following the team returning to practice after the All-Star break.

Snyder went 372-264 in eight years as the head coach of the Utah Jazz. Snyder's teams made six playoff appearances in those eight seasons. Following the 2021-22 season, Snyder and the Jazz mutually agreed to part ways.
