Qualifying for the FIBA World Cup is often a thankless task. It's generally done without NBA players or NBA coaches leading the way. Done outside of that spotlight, it's up to G League players and fill-in coaches to get Team USA on the big summer stage.

The United States pulled off a come-from-behind victory in Uruguay on Thursday to qualify for this summer's FIBA World Cup. Team USA was led by NBA veteran Langston Galloway with 21 points, while former LA Clipper Xavier Moon added 17 points and six assists.

Steve Kerr and a team full of NBA stars will now take over for Jim Boylen and the G Leaguers for the World Cup in the Philippines in late-August. That tournament will see Team USA looking for a record sixth World Cup title, as well as serving as a means of qualification for the 2024 Olympics.
