Duke forward Dariq Whitehead underwent a second surgery on his right foot. Whitehead is expected to fully recover ahead of NBA training camp this fall.

Whitehead is currently ranked by ESPN as the 26th best player in the 2023 NBA Draft. Whitehead initially had surgery last August. He went on to play 28 games in his lone season with the Blue Devils. He declared as an Early Entry Candidate for the 2023 draft. Whitehead chose to stay in the draft despite the right foot injury and has continued to meet with teams ahead of the draft.
