The New York Knicks defeated the San Antonio Spurs 105-104 in Game 2 on Friday night, taking a commanding 2-0 lead in the 2026 NBA Finals. New York entered Game 2 at 53 percent to win the championship on Polymarket and now sit at approximately 80 percent. San Antonio entered Game 2 as the 5.5-point home favorites and were favorites to win the series ahead of Game 1 at 64 percent.

Jalen Brunson now stands at 55 percent for Finals MVP honors, with Karl-Anthony Towns climbing to 29 percent after two strong outings. Victor Wembanyama entered the series at 62 percent for Finals MVP, a figure that has now collapsed to 15 percent.

Game 3 shifts to Madison Square Garden on Monday, where the Knicks open as 2.5-point favorites. The Knicks have won 13 straight games dating back to Game 4 of the first round against the Atlanta Hawks. 

Towns led New York with 21 points, while Mikal Bridges and Jalen Brunson each contributed 20. The Knicks controlled play through three quarters before foul trouble to Towns opened the door for a San Antonio charge in the final period. 

Wembanyama finished with 29 points but turned the ball over with 9.5 seconds remaining and then missed a potential game-winning jumper over Mitchell Robinson as New York preserved the narrow victory. 

The Knicks haven't won the NBA championship since 1973.
