Tonight:

Minnesota Timberwolves, 8

WHERE: Target Center.

RECORDS: Magic 5-5, Timberwolves 7-1.

BROADCAST: TV -- WRBW-Channel 65. RADIO -- 580 AM (WDBO) in Orlando; Spanish-language coverage on 1440 AM (WPRD).

PROBABLE STARTERS: Magic -- F Grant Hill (6-8), F Horace Grant (6-10), C Steven Hunter (7-0), G Tracy McGrady (6-8), G Darrell Armstrong (6-1). Timberwolves -- F Kevin Garnett (6-11), F Joe Smith (6-10), C Radoslav Nesterovic (7-0), G Wally Szczerbiak (6-7), G Terrell Brandon (5-11).

MAGIC UPDATE: After beginning this West Coast trip 0-2, the Magic have a chance to finish at 3-2. A third consecutive road victory would be huge for this developing Magic team. It would also put the Magic at 6-5 after playing eight of their first 11 games on the road.

TIMBERWOLVES UPDATE: Minnesota is still the same team, only off to a better start than normal perhaps because the players are so familiar with each other. Kevin Garnett is playing his usually brilliant basketball, and Wally Szczerbiak is complementing him from the guard spot.

WHAT TO WATCH FOR: At 6-11, Garnett will present some problems for Grant Hill, but that may be tempered by the fact that Garnett is not a great post-up scorer. On the flip side, whomever Szczerbiak guards -- Hill or Tracy McGrady -- will have an advantage.

ETC.: The Magic are 4-0 this season when allowing under 100 points. . . . Hill has led the Magic in rebounding in five of the team's 10 games. . . . New Magic acquisition Jud Buechler is expected to be in uniform tonight.
