Isiah Thomas has been fired as the head coach of the New York Knicks.
"I just believe a new voice, a new coach, is necessary to change the direction of the team," said Donnie Walsh.
Thomas is 187-223 as an NBA coach during his tenures in Indiana and New York.
Mark Jackson is the leading candidate to become the Knicks' new coach.
